On Thursday, May 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. the public is invited to learn about Nogies Creek and discover its secrets.
A broad cross-section of stewardship groups, lake associations, municipal, provincial and federal representatives and more will present displays and information on the mysteries of Nogies Creek.

“This special evening will be a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the mysteries of Nogies Creek and the important role it plays in our watershed,” explained Kawartha Conservation Director of Stewardship and Conservation Areas, Kristie Virgoe.  “Organizers have brought together a really wonderful and diverse group of presenters to provide invaluable information on Nogies Creek.”

On hand for the event will be representatives from the Municipality of Trent Lakes, Kawartha Conservation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Bee City, North Pigeon Lake Association, The Land Between, and historical enthusiasts.

“We are really excited to have Leora Berman from The Land Between as our keynote speaker for the night,” said Ms. Virgoe. “Her topic “The land of hope; how The Land Between supports Ontario during climate change”, will be informative and insightful.”

Discover the Secrets of Nogies Creek will be held in the boardroom (lower level) of the Municipality of Trent Lakes Municipal Office, located at 760 County Road 36 in Trent Lakes.

“We are really hoping to see a great turnout for this unique event,” said Kawartha Conservation Board of Directors Vice Chair Peter Raymond. “Nogies Creek is a really special, and important part of our watershed, and the information and knowledgeable people that will be on hand and available is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn about the history, importance and future of Nogies Creek.”
