August 3, 2018 – Kawartha Conservation staff are seeking comments on the Draft Dunsford Creek Flood Plain Mapping study following a Public Information Centre on Wednesday, July 25 in Dunsford.
“We appreciate everyone who attended the meeting for taking the time to come and review the work that has been completed to date and to ask questions about the process and how flood plain mapping works,” said Flood Plain GIS/Mapping Technician Galen Yerex. “We are continuing the commenting period until Monday, August 13 to allow more time for area residents to send their comments and feedback.”
About 40 people attended the Public Information Centre (PIC) on the Dunsford Creek Flood Plain Mapping Study on Wednesday, July 25 hosted by staff from the City of Kawartha Lakes and Kawartha Conservation.
The draft Dunsford Creek Flood Plain Mapping Study technical report and regulatory flood maps are available online at www.kawarthaconservation.com/permits-planning/flood-plain-mapping-studies.
“The commenting period provides the public with an opportunity to review the maps and the draft flood plain study as well as the draft regulated flood lines and provide any additional comments, questions and feedback,” explained Yerex.
Kawartha Conservation is in the final stages of completing the flood plain study for the Dunsford Creek Subwatershed and once final feedback has been received a technical team will review all comments and submissions for consideration in the final plan, before the final plan is submitted to the Kawartha Conservation Board of Directors for approval.
