July 22, 2019 – The public is invited to attend four public consultation sessions to provide input on the Ken Reid Conservation Area Master Plan.
Once complete, the Master Plan will guide the management, operation and development of Ken Reid Conservation Area.
“We have had a great response to our online survey, and the in-person, public consultation will be another part of the process to get as much feedback and interaction from the public and conservation area users as possible,” explained Brianna Callaghan, Watershed Resources Strategist.
The four public consultation sessions will be held on July 30, August 7, August 11 and August 24.
- Tuesday, July 30th - 9am-4pm at the picnic shelter across from the dog park
- Wednesday August 7th - 9am-4pm at the picnic shelter across from the dog park
- Sunday, August 11th - 9am-4pm in the Field Center
- Saturday, August 24th - 9am-4pm in the Field Center
“The existing Ken Reid Conservation Area Master Plan was first established in 1983, and while usage has increased substantially over the last 30 plus years, there haven’t been any major changes to the plan,” said Ms. Callaghan. “This is a great opportunity for members of the public to tell us what they like and don’t like, and where they would like to see Ken Reid Conservation Area go in the future.
“There are lots of great things happening at Ken Reid Conservation Area, and we want to make sure that the public has an opportunity to provide input on the things were doing, and where they would like to see us go in the future,” added Ms. Callaghan.
