Kawartha Conservation Foundation Launch Event

Join us outside at the beautiful Ken Reid Conservation Area near Lindsay for light refreshments, networking, a short hike, and a guest speaker at our Foundation launch event!

About our Guest Speaker
Dale A. Leadbeater, B.Sc., B.Ed., R.P.Bio., P.Biol. is the National Manager of the Ecology Technical Discipline for SLR Consulting Canada.

Dale also keeps busy with the Society for Ecological Restoration - Ontario Chapter, volunteering for the Couchiching Conservancy, and leading nature walks for the Carden Nature Festival and Field Botanists of Ontario. She has delivered popular lectures on topics that include "Species at Risk in Ontario" for the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, the "Ecological History of Ontario" for several naturalists' clubs, "Landscape as a Means of Survival" for the Durham Sector of Horticultural Societies, and "Fences as Indicators of Landscape Change" for the Carden Field Naturalists. And she is on the Advisory Committee for the Ecological Restoration Course at Fleming College and Trent University.

Her recent work has focused on integration of natural heritage as an integral part of managing sustainability and in planning for healthy, sustainable communities. She is also the co-chair of the Kawartha Field Naturalists' City of Kawartha Lakes Flora Project.
