Sturgeon Point Golf Club will be hosting their first ever ‘Conservation Classic’ charity fundraiser golf tournament. The tournament will be shotgun start and a best ball scramble in teams of 4. Regular and inexperienced golfers are all welcome. There will be a burger BBQ and prizes included to follow. A cash bar will be onsite. Sturgeon Point Golf Club and Kawartha Conservation need your help in raising funds for stewardship projects by attending a fun and relaxed evening of golf!
The proceeds will be donated to Kawartha Conservation to support the implementation of the shoreline restoration project being done at the Golf Club. This project was identified through the Lake Management Implementation Action Plan as a site to help improve local water quality and habitat. The demonstration site will be showcased at the tournament.
Mike Gascho, Director of Golf Operations, is passionate about golf, as well as stewardship. “We are happy to be hosting this demonstration site. It will help the lake and make our property more attractive at the same time,” Mike explains. “Our members, and our Board of Directors are eager to be leaders in the community as shoreline stewards.” The raised funds from the tournament will support the shoreline naturalization, a rain garden, and pollinator patch on the grounds. Sturgeon Point Golf Club will act as a demonstration site for the community, setting an example of shoreline stewardship.
We hope to see you there!
