Blue Canoe
What is the Blue Canoe?
The Blue Canoe is a waterfront visiting program run by Kawartha Conservation, with funding from the Township of Scugog and Region of Durham. It is operated in support of the Lake Scugog Environmental Management Plan and is designed to provide practical environmental information to homeowners and cottagers living on Lake Scugog.
The Blue Canoe crew travel by canoe and motor vehicle, as conditions permit, to lakefront properties with a free ‘goody bag’ of information related to living on the water. It is our goal to reach each lakefront household over the next few summers to answer residents' questions and to discuss ways in which we can all contribute to the health of the lake.
To learn more about what you can do to help the lake, refer to the Blue Canoe Checklist.
