About Fleetwood Creek

Fleetwood Creek Natural Area, owned by the Ontario Heritage Trust, was acquired in 1985 thanks to a generous donation from Hilda Pangman. This remarkable landscape holds the designation of a Provincially Significant Earth and Life Science Area of Natural and Scientific Interest (ANSI), meaning it is recognized for its unique geological and ecological features that are vital to Ontario’s natural heritage.

ANSIs protect areas with exceptional scientific value, showcasing rare landforms, plant species, and diverse ecosystems that are irreplaceable for education and research. To help preserve these sensitive environments, visitors are encouraged to stay on marked trails, ensuring that Fleetwood Creek’s most delicate natural areas remain protected for future generations.
