Duck on a Bike Story Walk begins June 7

Duck on a Bike Story Walk Trail PosterJUNE 7, 2021 – One day down on the farm, Duck got a wild idea. "I bet I could ride a bike," he thought. He waddled over to where the boy parked his bike, climbed on and began to ride. At first he rode slowly and he wobbled a lot, but it was fun!

Beginning today, Monday, June 7 and continuing for the June, the next Kawartha Lakes Public Library Story Walk at Ken Reid Conservation Area will feature Duck on a Bike by David Shannon.

This fun story will be enjoyed by families and children, as they discover Duck’s journey. Will other farm animals get to enjoy riding a bike? You’ll have to visit the Story Walk to find out.

Started in December, the Kawartha Lakes Public Library Story Walks at Ken Reid Conservation Area have been a popular attraction and a great way to encourage families and children to explore nature and the outdoors, while reading, learning and enjoying being outside.

The Story Walk Trail is a great partnership between the library and Kawartha Conservation.

If you’re planning to visit, remember to bring some bug spray as there might be a mosquito or two along the trail, and be sure to post your photos to social media and tag us at Ken Reid Conservation Area or Kawartha Conservation. We love seeing your posts enjoying the Story Walk.

Ken Reid Conservation Area is open from sunrise to sunset seven days a week.

See you on the trails.
