Fenelon Falls Brewing Co.’s Kawartha Summer Ale: Summer 2020’s must try

August 13, 2020 – Fenelon Falls Brewing Co.’s Kawartha Summer Ale is the must-try beer of the Kawarthas for summer.

The first batch of the popular unofficial beer of summer, an official collaboration with Kawartha Conservation, sold out in record time, creating increased demand as the boating, cottage and tourist season ramped up along the Trent Severn Waterway and across the Kawartha Lakes.

“Our customers and visitors have told us how much they are enjoying our Kawartha Summer Ale,” said Mathew Renda, General Manager at Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. “It was clear from early sales and interest when our bottle shop and patio opened, but we continue to see growing demand for our Kawartha Summer Ale here at the brewery, as well as in deliveries and orders across the Kawarthas, Peterborough, Durham and the GTA.”

The Kawartha Summer Ale was launched as a partnership with Kawartha Conservation to help support environmental initiatives across the watershed.

“A portion of proceeds from every can sold goes to support Integrated Watershed Management and Stewardship initiatives within the Kawartha Conservation watershed,” explained John Chambers, Marketing and Communications Specialist for Kawartha Conservation.

“Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. and Mathew Renda in particular, embraced the idea and the concept and it came together very quickly,” Mr. Chambers added. “We cannot express our appreciation enough for the great work of Brewmaster Russell Gibson to come up with a fantastic recipe for our beer collaboration, and for Mathew and his team in helping to support environmental sustainability across our watershed.”

The partnership has enabled both Kawartha Conservation and Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. to support local business and local environmental initiatives that will have long reaching benefits for our community.

While already implementing several environmental initiatives into their operations, the partnership between Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., and Kawartha Conservation is an extension of the great work already being undertaken by creating revenue that will specifically target programs and projects that support healthy lakes and rivers.

Kawartha Summer Ale is available in limited quantities through the Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. online store or stop by their bottle shop Wednesday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 4 May Street in Fenelon Falls at Lock 34.
