Funding for environmental projects now available through Scugog Water Fund
SEPTEMBER 14, 2022 – If you’re a property owner in the Townships of Scugog or Brock looking to undertake a project on your property that has the potential to positively impact water quality or ecosystem health, you may be eligible to receive funding and technical assistance through the Scugog Water Fund.
With applications now open and limited funding available, landowners within the eligible funding area are encouraged to review project eligibility guidelines and begin the application process as soon as possible.
“We want to make it easy for landowners in the Townships of Scugog and Brock to implement projects that positively impact the environment,” said Danielle Marcoux-Hunter, Landowner and Community Support. “Kawartha Conservation is able to support a wide range of project types through the Scugog Water Fund, ranging from healthy gardening and shoreline naturalization projects to farm stewardship, tree planting, well decommissions, septic upgrades and more. Schedule a consultation with us to support your application for funding.”
Applicants must begin by reviewing the eligibility requirements for funding in relation to their proposed project. Following that, those interested in applying must schedule a consultation with Kawartha Conservation, who will then provide advice and suggestions to help landowners complete their application for funding.
Priority will be given to projects that are near surface water or hydrologically sensitive areas, have the potential to improve water quality, water quantity, or terrestrial habitat, as well as to landowners that have not previously received funding through this program.
Funds are limited. The deadline to apply for funding is Sunday, October 16.
