Kawartha Conservation launches 10-Year Climate Change Strategy Survey
MAY 12, 2023 – Kawartha Conservation is excited to announce the launch of its 10-Year Climate Change Strategy Survey. The survey aims to gather valuable insights and opinions from community members to shape a comprehensive and inclusive strategy for addressing climate change in the Kawartha watershed region. With this initiative, Kawartha Conservation emphasizes that everyone has a voice and a vested interest in the local environment.
Climate change affects us all, regardless of our background or where we reside. Whether you're a student, a parent, a farmer, a seasonal resident, or live in an urban area or the countryside, your perspective is crucial in tackling the challenges presented by climate change. By participating in this survey, you have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a robust and resilient 10-year Climate Change Strategy that reflects the needs and aspirations of our diverse community.
This survey presents a unique platform for residents to express their thoughts, share experiences, and suggest actionable measures to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Kawartha Conservation recognizes that the collective wisdom and engagement of the community are vital in formulating effective strategies that preserve and enhance our environment for current and future generations.
"Our region is rich in natural resources and biodiversity, but it is also vulnerable to the effects of climate change. We believe that everyone, regardless of their background or profession, has a stake in building a sustainable and resilient future," said Nancy Aspden, acting manager of Integrated Watershed Management at Kawartha Conservation. "By participating in the survey, you become an active agent of change, helping us shape a strategy that addresses the challenges posed by climate change and fosters a healthier, greener, and more vibrant community."
The survey will cover a wide range of climate change topics, including perceptions of climate change, desired actions, existing knowledge, and suggestions for collaborative efforts. Whether you are well-versed in climate change or just starting to learn about it, your input is invaluable.

The survey will be open until Sunday, June 4.
