Kawartha Conservation Launches 10-Year Climate Change Strategy Survey; Seeks Engagement

MAY 19, 2023 – Kawartha Conservation is reminding businesses, individuals, families, cottagers, farmers and more about the launch of its 10-Year Climate Change Strategy Survey. This comprehensive survey aims to gather valuable insights from the community, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard in shaping the organization's approach to climate change.

Climate change poses significant challenges to our region, impacting ecosystems, water resources, and the overall well-being of our communities. Recognizing the urgency of addressing these issues, Kawartha Conservation has embarked on the development of a strategic plan to help address local impacts and challenges associated with climate change head-on.

The 10-Year Climate Change Strategy Survey serves as a crucial tool in gathering input and feedback from residents, businesses, and stakeholders within the Kawartha watershed. By participating in this survey, community members can actively contribute to the development of effective strategies, policies, and initiatives to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

Through a series of thoughtful questions, the survey explores various aspects of climate change, including its local impacts, potential solutions, and opportunities for community involvement. Kawartha Conservation believes that inclusive community engagement is key to developing a robust and impactful strategy that reflects the needs and aspirations of those directly affected.

"We invite everyone to take part in this survey and share their insights on climate change," said Nancy Aspden, acting Manager of Integrated Watershed Management at Kawartha Conservation. "By collectively addressing the challenges posed by climate change, we can safeguard our environment, strengthen our communities, and create a sustainable future for generations to come."

The 10-Year Climate Change Strategy Survey is now available to be taken online at https://forms.office.com/r/dwzRj1dQLk. The organization encourages individuals, businesses, community groups, and other stakeholders to participate and ensure their perspectives are represented in the strategic planning process.
