Support Kawartha Conservation's Community Events and Natural Spaces

Federal Tax Deadline Extension

JANUARY 2, 2025 – The federal government’s recent extension of the 2024 charitable donation tax deadline to February 28, 2025, offers a timely opportunity to give back to your community. Kawartha Conservation invites residents and businesses to make a meaningful contribution, supporting cherished events and the preservation of natural spaces in the Kawartha watershed.

Your generosity makes community events like Christmas at Ken Reid, the Illuminated Forest, and the Kawartha Fall Festival possible. These celebrations unite residents and visitors, offering joyful experiences that embrace the beauty of our environment. Donations also directly fund the maintenance and improvement of trails, boardwalks, conservation areas, and programs that nurture a healthier environment.

“Our conservation areas and programs provide a critical connection between people and nature,” said Mark Majchrowski, Chief Administrative Officer of Kawartha Conservation. “Your donations not only allow us to host events and programs that enrich the community but also ensure that we can continue protecting and preserving the natural spaces we all cherish.”

Kristie Virgoe, Director of Stewardship and Conservation Lands, emphasized the lasting impact of each donation.

“When you contribute to Kawartha Conservation, you’re helping create memories for families at events like the Illuminated Forest and Christmas at Ken Reid, fostering a love for nature, and supporting a legacy of environmental stewardship,” she said. “Every dollar truly makes a difference.”
