Fostering a connection to and appreciation for the natural world for children at an early age is an important step towards creating a network of local environmental stewards who will ensure the health of our watershed in the future.

Kawartha Conservation’s Environmental Outdoor Education Programs are designed to provide unique opportunities for students to learn in a natural setting. Our education programs are linked to Ontario curriculum and are available for primary, junior and intermediate aged students. Programs are designed to engage students in hands-on activities that extend learning from the classroom into the natural environment. One-Day Nature Camps for Kids

The four one-day Nature Camps for Kids will offer children, ages 4 (must turn 4 by July 1) and 5, with four different themed days with hands-on, structured outdoor learning in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.

The four one-day camps will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Camp participants can be dropped off at 8 a.m. and picked up at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $45 per day, $40 if you sign up for three day camps and $35 if you register for all four one-day camps.

Wednesday August 2 - Wonders of Water
Wednesday August 9 - Bugs
Time: 8:30am to 4pm
Price - $45/Day - $40/Day (for three sessions) - $35 for all four

Mom and Tot Outdoor Learning Program

The Mom and Tot program allows mothers and their young children (ages 2-4) to connect with nature in a safe, nurturing environment, providing quality time and learning through fun crafts, sensory games, circle times, sharing, stories and more.

This exciting new program will be held at Ken Reid Conservation Area and will provide a morning of outdoor activities lead by a Kawartha Conservation educator.  This session will include circle time for structured sharing, singing and stories.

Nature Explorer Summer Camp

This week long summer camp offered in partnership with Fleming College and Kawartha Conservation for ages 6 - 10 focuses on fun hands-on activities around environmental education and outdoor skills.
