10-Year Climate Change Strategy

Kawartha Conservation's 10-Year Climate Change Strategy (2025-2034) is a visionary plan designed to tackle the region's climate challenges while building a sustainable and resilient future. The strategy focuses on key priorities, including robust data collection, effective information sharing, knowledge exchange, and support for climate mitigation and adaptation initiatives.

At its core, the strategy emphasizes collaboration with member municipalities, such as the City of Kawartha Lakes, the Municipality of Trent Lakes, the Township of Brock, the Township of Scugog, the Municipality of Clarington, and the Township of Cavan-Monaghan. By working together, these partners aim to strengthen regional resilience, safeguard natural heritage, and enhance ecosystem health.

This comprehensive approach integrates valuable data and municipal partnerships to drive impactful actions, ensuring the region is well-prepared to face the challenges of a changing climate while protecting its environmental legacy for future generations.

This strategy is intentionally designed with flexibility, allowing Kawartha Conservation to adapt to the unique needs of individuals and respond to emerging challenges within the landscape. By aligning with strategic targets, it empowers the community to make positive environmental impacts while addressing evolving priorities and opportunities.
